An H3 rocket (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and JAXA) launches the Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) mission from the Yoshinobu Launch Complex at JAXA's Tanegashima Space Center, Japan. MMX will survey Mars' moons Phobos and Deimos and is set to be the first sample-return mission from the Martian system; it carries a small French/German rover for Phobos.
